Now that it has been proven that Mars has water, the only challenge is to raise its surface temperature, and produce oxygen.
There are several methods to achieve this: they include everything from using microwaves to deploying a complex mirroring system which simply focuses natural light.
Transforming Venus
Venus is unlike Mars. Instead of being cold, its surface is so hot, that at 461°C, it can melt a bar of lead!
NASA solved this problem by proposing the use of bacteria. Their plan calls for a series of space probes to be launched into Venus’ atmosphere.
These machines would release bacteria that would feed and naturally thrive off of the dense carbons which exist in the atmosphere of Venus.
These bacteria produce oxygen as a natural byproduct, or waste! The resulting release of this oxygen would gradually thin out Venus’ atmosphere, allowing the sun’s rays to escape back into space, naturally cooling off the planet to California-like temperatures.
The Moon
The Moon is also another body which will be colonized. Those plans, will be examined tomorrow.
Joke of the Day: The Blonde "IQ" Test 1. Two blonde women were standing next to each other when one of them gets the "bright idea" to test the IQ of the other. "OK Einstein, if you’re so smart, then answer this question," the first blonde woman says to the other. "No problem," replied the second blonde. "Ask away." "OK, here’s my question: Which is further away: the state of New York or the Moon?" "Oh that’s easy to answer. Of course, it’s the state of New York." "By God, you’re right!" said the first blonde. "I take back everything I’ve ever said about you being so stupid. So tell me, did you figure this out all by yourself?" "Yes," replied the second blonde. "It’s obvious the Moon is closer because you can see it!" |
