VŠECHNY LEKCE ZDE
When you go shopping for food at the grocery store, it is quite common for people to buy some of their goods in what are called cans.
While cans do come in all shapes and sizes, usually they are made of metal and are round shaped. Cans designed for consumers, naturally, are usually easily held.
Cans are simply a type of container, period. Examples:
"Mom wants to have canned corn for dinner," or "I like fresh fruit instead of canned fruit."
Canned and Canning
When food or any items are stored in a can, we call them canned goods or canned whatever. If you have peas, you have canned peas. If you have canned beets, you have canned beets instead of fresh ones.
The word canned comes from the process known as canning. This is when items are put into cans, and are then sealed tightly with some sort of vacuum process to remove all of the air in them which might cause their contents to spoil.
Canning things such as food helps preserve them, but always remember, nothing that is ever canned has an "infinite" shelf life.
Things always expire and can spoil, especially if they were once organic or alive such as foods.
When using canned goods, always pay attention to any expiration dates which might exist. If none can be found on the can and you cannot establish how old its contents are, please play it safe and NEVER take a chance and try to eat them.
Joke of the Day: True Butt Amazine Stories
The man was arrested after doing this for three months, on charges of identity theft, fraud, counterfeiting, and other charges. At his hearing before the judge, the man wrote a check for more than $3,000 and paid his bail so he could leave jail. The only problem was, this check was a forgery!
Arrested again, he then "paid" his bail of nearly $10,000 using another forged check, only this time he was released by the court. They didn’t discover that this second check was also bad until after he had already been released.
