As of now, representing the Republican Party, will be U.S. Senator John McCain vs. either Democrats Barrack Obama or Hillary Clinton.
When Americans go to the polls in the Fall, they’ll cast their vote directly for their next President.
Romney pulls out
One of the biggest shockers last week was that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney pulled out of the contest, all but assuring that John McCain will be the party’s official nominee shortly. Romney had spent more than $30,000,000 of his own funds, yet he was the biggest loser on the Republican side as McCain steam rolled competitors.
Obama continues to stun Clinton
Continuing his historic rise to serious contention, Illinois Senator Barrack Obama won most of the delegates and states which have held contests these past few days.
Obama now has Clinton playing "defense" for the first time since her campaign began. Clinton also recently loaned her own campaign five million dollars, -- and still lost.
JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King
Barrack Obama is being hailed as "the new John F. Kennedy," or "JFK, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King all rolled up into one."
While this is a gross exaggeration, since Obama has never championed civil rights and conditions today are not the same as they once were in the 1960s, there is no denying that he has indeed captivated U.S. voters.
