So far, if the election were held today, it seems that either Hillary Clinton or U.S. Senator Barack Obama would represent the Democrats.

Hillary Clinton
There’s no doubt that she is the most famous member of her party, except for her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who of course is even more well known.

Although world famous, Hillary Clinton is known for her hard work and what is called "steel resolve."

Once very much a divisive figure in politics, Hillary Clinton earned enormous respect from even her harshest critics over the way she maintained her professional and personal poise and grace as she endured the embarrassing scandal of her husband’s affair with Monica Lewinksy.

After the Clintons left the White House, Hillary was elected by a wide margin to the U.S. Senate, where she represents the state of New York.

During the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 Clinton received widespread praise for working with President George Bush to help insure proper aid for victims.

Barack Obama
Like Clinton, Barack Obama is also a U.S. Senator, but he has only two year’s experience. Today, he is considered to be a "fresh voice"in American politics.

He remains popular because he is a centrist who brings different parties together. Obama is also considered an “outsider” and is not part of the typical political machinery since he hasn’t been in office long enough.

Clinton-Obama vs. Obama-Clinton
There are rumors, already early in the campaign, that Obama will be chosen as Clinton’s Vice-Presidential candidate. While it’s still too early to tell, if Obama did agree, the Democrats would have a strong ticket.

Celebrating Those Dumb Laws

Alabama: it is against the law to wear a blindfold while driving a vehicle.

New Mexico: it is illegal for women to appear unshaven in public.

Georgia: Chickens are not allowed to cross any roads, and this is not a joke.

Indiana: it is still actually against the law to have a bath in the winter!

Kentucky: it is illegal for a woman to buy a hat without her husband’s permission.

California: woman are not allowed to drive a vehicle wearing their bathrobe.

Vermont: it is against the law, naturally, to tie your giraffe to any telephone pole.

Vermont: a woman must get her husband’s permission to wear false teeth.
