Card Up Your Sleeve
When a person has a card up their sleeve, this can means two things: it means that they literally have a card up their sleeve, such as when they are gambling and playing card games, or it means they have a resource or fact or piece of information that will help them out, or perhaps solve a problem.
Examples: "Although we lost the tender for that new construction contract, our boss said for us not to worry because he has a card up his sleeve which he can use to still get business from this" or "Hollywood wants her to star in this movie, but they don’t want to pay her very much. She has a card up her sleeve in that she can call her friend Steven Spielberg, and make them pay her a lot more money."
Call the Shots
When someone calls the shots it means that they are essentially the boss or a decision maker.
Examples: "She may be just the secretary in this office, but make no mistake about it, she calls all the shots, she has all the power" or "The coach is frustrated because the football team’s owner won’t let him call the shots regarding his players."
Climb on the Bandwagon
When someone climbs on the bandwagon, this is a figure of speech which means that they are joining something that is either already in progress, or is already very popular.
Examples: "Three years ago no one took Apple seriously when it launched the iPod. Now, everyone is on the iPod bandwagon, Apple has sold more than 100 million iPods" or "Now that the hockey team is winning, people are starting to jump on the bandwagon and are supporting it by purchasing many more tickets."
