They eat the tiny pieces of skin which fall from your body each day, and do so by the millions.
They enjoy sitting and living in many of the same places you enjoy: your couch, the chairs you sit in often, especially your bed.
Perhaps their favorite place to hang out and be your neighbor, is your pillow! Yes, the same pillow you so warmly hug each night as you try to get comfortable and sleep.
Your scalp is a rich source of food for them. They don’t even have to climb aboard it to eat. Instead, the tiny pieces of skin which fall off of your scalp, combined with your hairs and oils, are a true smorgasbord delight for these creatures.
What are they? Do such things really exist?
The answer is yes. These creatures are called dust mites, and they exist in everyone’s home by the millions.
