"It doesn’t mean beans"

There’s an expression in English that something either "doesn’t mean beans," or "it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans," or "it doesn’t amount to beans."

These expressions basically mean that "it" is not worth anything, it’s useless or worthless, perhaps even irrelevant. Example:

"His opinion didn’t amount to a hill of beans. It rained all day, despite what he predicted."

"Spill the beans"
When someone "spills the beans," this means that they end up saying or informing someone either of or about something. Examples:

"He decided to spill the beans to his wife and admit that he was out drinking last night, when he should not have been" or "She decided to spill the beans to the police and confess everything. She told them that her boyfriend did indeed rob that bank last month."

Another way that people will use the term "to spill the beans," concerns what are called confessions. Examples:

"You better be prepared to spill the beans when I get home," the father told his oldest son, or "I expect you both to spill the beans and tell me all about it," the marriage counselor told the couple as they began their first session of therapy together.

"I’ll bean you"
When someone "gets beaned in the head," this means they got hit with something. Sometimes, people also say "beamed" or "creamed" when referring to getting hit. Example:"He really got beaned in the head with that baseball bat.

Joke of the Day: True Butt Amazing Stories

One time, the police in the city of San Francisco had arrested several men and had put them all in a line-up.

A woman had been robbed, and she was asked to identify any of the suspects, if she possibly could.

As the men stood around nervously, the police asked each of them to say the words: “Ok, this is a robbery, give me all your money!”

As they were coming up to each person making this request, suddenly one of the men blurts out, "That’s not what I said!"

At this point the police dismissed the rest of the line up, and took the guilty man away.
