In Someone Else’s Shoes

  • 17
As everyone who really knows me will admit, I keep a very busy schedule. I am so busy in fact, that I really should try to do fewer things each day, but I don’t. Instead, I am always what is called "pushing it" and although I am mostly successful when I do so, I certainly do fail.

Some days, I’m just too busy for my own good.

Yesterday, was just such a day. You’re not going to believe what happened to me.

Yesterday, before coming to Metropolitni Expres, I stopped by a company to fix their Macintosh computer. After finishing work there, I was then supposed to go do some volunteer teaching, and then come to Expres.

When I left to go teach, I was in such a hurry, that I actually put on someone else’s shoes, just before I left! I am not kidding you.

I had just bought a new pair of shoes just before coming to this business to work on their computer, and it turns out that the pair I had put on by mistake, not only fit my feet, but looked a lot like the shoes I had just purchased! The only difference was their color.

As I was walking very fast on my way to go teach, realizing I had put someone else’s shoes on, naturally I had to go back immediately and return them.

However, I also knew who owned these shoes, he is a friend of mine name Petr. As a joke, I was tempted to keep them, but I didn’t.

As I got to the door, Katka answered and asked me if I had forgotten something. She did this, because there have been plenty of times in the past when I certainly did forget things at her office, and came back knocking on her door.

I told Katka “No, not this time, but I accidentally took Petr’s shoes!” and then I explained everything to her. She started laughing, and shook her head, and told me that just when she thought she had seen everything in her life, she never would have predicted this.

I told her I agree, that I am indeed way too busy for my own good.

Celebrating Dumb Butt True Laws

Connecticut: it is against the law to walk backwards after sunset.

Colorado: it is against the law to loan your vacuum cleaner to anyone else.

Montana: it is illegal for a married woman to go fishing by herself on Sundays.

Montana: It is illegal for an unmarried woman to fish alone.

Maryland: a man went to court to change his name to Tyrone Victor Wright. The Judge agreed, and his name was then changed.

The next day, this same man went back to court and told the Judge that he changed his mind. He was then told by the court that he had to wait 30 days before he could file papers to have his name changed back to his original name: Jesus Christ Hallelujah.
