Getting "Buzzed"
Another term for what we were attempting to do is called getting buzzed. While the phrase getting buzzed has more than one meaning, in this specific usage it refers to anyone who is getting what is called a buzz cut, or a close shave.
It Came Off Fast
To achieve "the right buzz cut," the person who is cutting your hair, or shaving it off in this case, uses what are called electric shears.
Shears "shear off" hair, whereas scissors physically cut hairs into at least two pieces. Shears, by contrast, remove the whole hair, but from the bottom. Shears were used, because cutting it with scissors would be inefficient, and take too much time.
After The Buzz
In only a few minutes, in what seemed like less time than it normally takes to get a "typical" haircut, our objective was achieved.Suddenly, I was "buzzed" after just having gotten a buzz cut.
The first thing I noticed was a very obvious drop in temperature. To my senses, I could actually feel the temperature difference in between the hairs! Naturally, I was not used to this, and don’t recall ever experiencing it before.
Now that my friends have seen me, a rather funny phenomenon has happened: the men I know who are all bald themselves, say I look "much better" now.
To be honest, I have no idea. "Beauty" is relative, especially in my case!
