Explaining the Major Areas

Let’s briefly review the main feature set for the new re-design of Metropolitni Expres’ Kal’s Korner Online Web site. The description which follows here is based on the version that we expect to deploy next week. In other words, this isn’t what some people call “pie in the sky” stuff, nor stuff full of fluff. :-)

Indeed, what’s described here already exists. Several of our readers have been testing it.

Expres Universal English Platform
The first thing we can now say that has happened is that we are finally delivering our first platform for working together online. Now that this new Web site has a database engine behind it and many other components, what we have created for you is essentially a platform for an online community.

Not only will this new platform facilitate communications, but it can also serve as a repository for practical and useful English, reflecting the many contributions of our readers and their expertise.SQL-Based, Dynamic

As we mentioned previously, this new Web site has a database engine behind it. This means that searches can now be conducted, reports can be run, and information can be added and updated with a single mouse click or making a few choices on the screen.

Extending this Feature to Readers
In the current Web site, there is no way for readers or teachers to add material. In the new Web site, this is finally possible.

This is possible because of not only database engine integration, but also because of the communications forum which we have added.

Just Register Yourself - It’s Free
Depending on who you are and what you wish to do, you can register yourself for free on the new Web site.

If you have some great English content and would like to see it published here, you can sign up for an account and we’ll try to make it possible.

                     Joke of the Day

An elderly man wanted to dig up his garden in order to plant some new crops for the spring. He was old, however, and really did not have the energy.

About once a week, he would write a letter to his one and only son, who was in prison. He mentioned to his son that he was too old to take care of his garden anymore.

"Oh father, don’t dig up the garden. That’s where I buried those explosives and all those Kalishnikovs!" his son replied from his jail cell in his letter.

The next morning the police showed up and spent all day digging up his father’s garden but could find no explosives or anything "dangerous" of any kind.

"Dad," wrote his son a few days later, "I can’t help you with the planting, but now your job is much more easy, isn’t it?"
