Eaten in moderate amounts and at the right times, Avocados can actually supply you with many health, nutrition, vitamin and various chemical benefits. Let’s briefly review a few of them.
Avocados: Mexico and Elsewhere
The Avocado is a native fruit which has its origins in Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, and other places around Central America where the weather is more humid and hot. This includes Jamaica. Avocados are also grown in Spain, for shipment and within the European Union.
While every large grocery store usually has them, stores tend to carry only a few at time, compared to other fruits.
Rich in Vitamins and Potassium
Avocados are especially very rich in vitamins A, B and E. The mineral they contain an abundance of is Potassium, which is a very important mineral.
"Brain Food" and Babies/Hair
Avocados are an excellent source for the vital substance, lecithin. Lecithin is a material that is found in every living cell. It is critically important to life. 30% of the human brain, by weight, is actually made of lecithin.
The is also true for about 75% of your liver’s fat.
Since avocados are loaded with this substance, they are considered to be a “brain food” because the choline they contain is converted in a person’s brain into a neurotransmitter, which literally helps the brain’s thought processes and their signals to function properly. Without your neurotransmitters, human brains would not be able to “think” properly.
When eaten, avocados also help improve the quality of a woman’s milk for breast-feeding her baby.
They’re also great for healthy skin and are very good for your hair.
