In Japan the only polite way of giving and accepting gifts, business cards, etc. is with BOTH hands. Japanese are known to be an extremely clean bunch, scrubbing their hands violently after all bodily functions. I wonder if they know how many Americans, especially men, don't wash their hands every time they empty their bladder? Maybe then they wouldn't think it impolite if a guy kept his peeing hand to himself while exchanging business cards.
In the Middle East it's the ultimate insult to greet someone with your left hand. That's because they wipe their butts with their left one. But, knowing that right handers in America wipe their butts with their right hands, wouldn't it make sense that they'd be insulted if the right handed Americans didn't greet them with their left hands?
