Cut-Out, Cut Down, Cut Across, Cut Over

The term cut-out (or cutout) refers to any kind of item that is used to visually communicate or display something. Examples: "That theatre uses cutouts in their stage productions that are made of wood and not stone to simulate that old castle, instead of using real materials".

Re: Cut-Out, Cut Down, Cut Across, Cut Over...

All children have that sweet girlish look at that age. That's a picture of Kal (or his legitimate son), the resemblance is striking. Come to think of it, old Kal never did lose that girly-man look, did he?  Don't feel bad, Kal, neither did Arnie. :-)

Kal says ....

.... "The two men in the Czech pub were trading cut downs ..."

I have never heard that expression.  Trading put downs, barbs, insults, yes!   But "cut downs"?  Never ever heard that one before.  But then, I don't frequent Czech pubs. My fault, I guess! :-/

OK...so someone tell me what's the deal with the Kal photos?

On this website there's a photo of a man gently entering middle age. However, when I picked up the Expres in the Metro station in Prague ... the colomn has a photo of a nine year old child (who incidently muses over his thoughts on Americans he's encountered in the last seven years).

Kal as a boy? His son? WHY???
