don't put 1.4's on with a 110 - unless you want way too much lift, smashed valves, pulled retainers or a valve train thats way over-accelerated and will wear out in double-quick time!!! (ok, maybe i over-exagerrated a bit but trust me, its a bad idea!) seriously though, it'll all depend on the heads, springs, valve length and maybe even deck height. 1.25's will work with a 110 but i'd be careful to check for coil bind (depending on heads/springs) or the retainers contacting the tops of the guides etc. if you check it out carefully and set your pushrod length etc. you might ende up with a few more ponies but only really if the heads will flow enough (ported) or the valves are bigger etc. etc. the pops t3 has 1.25's on a 110 cam and they work a treat but i've never driven it with 1.1's so i can't really comment on the gains. I know that on the 2007 i built for his bug i had to change the retainers and trim the tops of the guides to use 1.25's with the engle 125 (but that has a fair bit more lift than the 110). basically, yes they might give more power but check very carefully that everything clears without binding and the pushrod/rocker arm geometry is correct.
