Blueberries are rich in anti-oxidants, which by their very nature, help reduce the chances of getting cancer. Blueberries contain a chemical called Anthocyanin, which is responsible for giving the blueberry its distinctive color.
Cancer cells don’t like Anthocyanin, which is one of the reasons blueberries are so good for you, in addition to being a very rich source in natural Vitamin C, which helps preserve and protect the structures of cells in the body.
Women who have a history of breast cancer in their family due to genetics, are encouraged to include lots of raw broccoli in their diets.
Tomatoes are very rich in lycopene, which protects the body from cancer of the prostate. To get the greatest benefits from the anti-oxidants in tomatoes, it is best to COOK them first before eating, which facilitates the release of lycopene.
If you cook tomatoes, make sure you don’t use oil or other ingredients which will ruin the benefits of eating tomatoes.
Long known as a “purifier” by the Chinese, green tea is rich in catechins, which are another anti-oxidant. Catechins have been shown to reduce tumors and help prevent cancer in the colon and rectum. Green tea works best when served cold or at room temperature, not hot or boiling, contrary to popular belief.
