Some people don’t trouble themselves to put a costume on, and claim they were "born with one naturally, so why bother?"
Trick or Treat?
In the USA, young kids (and even a fair number of teenagers, "escorting" their younger siblings), will walk the neighborhoods all dressed up and go from door to door asking people for treats.
The "typical" Halloween tradition calls for you to knock on a person’s door, and when they answer it you are supposed to ask, "Trick or Treat?" and then hold your bag out for the person to drop their goodies into it. Ideally, it will be either a "trick" of some kind, but most likely a treat. Occasionally, people even include small toys.

Naturally, the most popular item for Halloween is candy, -- candy of all kinds and of all sorts. Next to Valentine’s Day, Halloween of course is an excuse to consume mounds of chocolate.
Some of the most popular candies for Halloween are lollipops, sweet or sour tarts, chocolate peanut butter cups, M&Ms, and of course those ever-fattening marshmallow rice cakes.
People will also bake plenty of cookies for Halloween and give them out, and even make small cupcakes. Punch is also popular, and so is green-colored beer.
